School Board Interviews Superintendent For Finance Candidates
FIRST REPORTED 5:30am 3/1/13 In a closed door meeting, the District 205 Board of Education interviewed three candidates Thursday night for Superintendent for Finance.

The District is looking to find a possible replacement for former Superintendent for Finance and Operations Guy Cahill.

In the interim, Jim Rich is handling the District's financial matters until a more permanent replacement has been found - which according to the discussion could be as soon as this month.

At Thursday night's interviews, the board met with the three candidates separately for about an hour.

Board President Natalie Kessler tells WGIL they are following up on the Administration's interview.

"The administration has already interviewed so we're just touching up on the kind of bigger community wide, if it's somebody we feel we can work with and experience that we need then I don't know that will do second interviews unless we just are at some kind of a tied up standstill."

There were four candidates going into the interviews, but one dropped out of consideration.

One of the most pressing issues will be how the new Superintendent for Finance will handle reduced funding from the State.

Kessler went on to say that the board is looking for a community wide perspective, but the recommendation of Superintendent Bart Arthur will weigh heavily.

Information on who the candidates were, or their qualifications was not disclosed.
