Knox College Hires New Dean
A new dean of students will be in place at Knox College when the current one returns to teaching in the fall.

The College announced Friday that Doctor Laura Behling will become the new Dean of the college and Vice President of Academic Affairs effective July first.

Behling is succeeding Lawrence Breitborde, who's retiring from the position and will return to teaching anthropology.

Knox College says Behling is a graduate of Kalamazoo College, The Claremont Graduate School, and Boston University, and also has done work at Harvard. She's studied English, American Literature, Journalism, and Educational Management and has a laundry list of other accomplishments.

Behling comes to Knox from Butler University in Indiana, where she's been Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs.

In a news release, Knox president Teresa Amott says Behling has a deep commitment to liberal arts and to professional development, saying that the college dean is a critical position on campus. Behling, in that same news release, says she's impressed with the sense of community on the Knox campus.
