CSC Board Candidate Drops Out, But Name Still Remains on Ballot
There's one less candidate for seats on the Carl Sandburg College Board of Trustees in the upcoming election, but that's because one of the candidates already on the ballot is asking voters not to vote for her.

Brenda Lehr of Knoxville was one of four people seeking two open seats on the board in the 10-county CSC District, but issued a statement over the weekend saying she can no longer run. Lehr says she was hired for a job with the federal government last week, which makes her ineligible to run for public office. Lehr says, however, it is too late for her name to be taken off the ballot, since ballots have already been printed.

So Lehr says, "Please do not vote for me on April seventh as a vote for me will not count." Lehr says any of the three remaining candidates would be better choices.

Incumbents Tom Coclasure and Wayne Green, along with former board member Bruce Lauerman, are all running for two open six-years terms on the board. Gayla Pacheco is running unopposed for the unexpired term on the board vacated by Jack Ball. Pacheco is currently filling that seat.
