Cab Driver Faces Drug Charges
A local cab driver is behind bars after she allegedly turned over drugs she had on her person to police. 28-year old Amanda Epperson of Galesburg is currently in Knox county Jail after she turned over drugs she had on her to authorities.

Police received a tip through their crimestoppers program Monday of a City Cab driver who was possibly smoking cannabis while driving the cab around the city. Police made contact with a City Cab employee informing them of the tip.

Upon her arrival back at her workplace, Epperson, according to police reports, was asked if she had drugs on her and she allegedly said yes. She reportedly handed over to police two cannabis smoking pipes, and a wooden box containing containing cannabis. She also allegedly told police she also had a small amount of methamphetamine with her possessions.

The white powder Epperson turned over to police officials tested positive for meth and officers requested both the cannabis and meth be sent to the State Police Lab for further testing.

Epperson now awaits her time in court as she faces preliminary charges of Possession of Cannabis under 2.5 grams, Possession of Meth, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
