Quinn Continues Budget Tour
Gov. Pat Quinn continues his whirlwind tour of the state Friday with a stop in Chicago. Quinn visited several cities across the state Thursday to promote his budget proposal which includes higher taxes and fees.

Hs first stop was in Peoria, where he said Illinois should no longer be a "deadbeat state" that doesn't pay its bills. Later, with a stop in LaSalle, Quinn talked about a $26 billion public works program he says would create 340,000 jobs. Funding would come from an increase of license plate fees and the proposed tax hike.

The governor acknowledges that some will take a hit in the pocketbook under his budget proposal, but he says they'll trade their tax dollars for better education, continued health care for seniors and services for veterans.
