District-205 Superintendent Wants Quick Search for New Finance Chief
The Superintendent of the Galesburg School District says he doesn't want to wait too long to find a replacement for one of its top administrators.

Doctor Gene Denisar says the the open position of Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations is already posted following Paul Woehlke's resignation. Woehlke was hired Tuesday night to be the new Superintendent of the Monmouth-Roseville School District starting July first.

Denisar tells WGIL even though Woehlke had made the district known before now of his intentions, he's on kind of a fast track to find a replacement. "We'd like to get someone in place by the May 11th board meeting for the board's approval," Denisar said. "I know that's aggrassive, but hopefully we'll find that right person and we'll have a little bit of transition time."

Denisar says Woehlke has assured him the transition will be smooth, and he's confident the right candidate is out there.

Denisar says Woehlke has proven valuable for District-205 in the last four years, especially as things like state funding of school districts has been harder and harder to navigate. He says the role as finance head has become as valuable as being superintendent.
