Police Investigating Vandalism Complaints
Three separate incidents involving the defacing of vehicles in Galesburg may be related. Galesburg Police reports indicate officers were called to a residence in the 800 block of East First Street in reference to a vehicle damage complaint early Friday morning.

Upon their arrival, they saw a Chevy Cavalier spray painted with large white paint letters on the drivers side door. Police patrolled the area for any other vehicles that may have sustained similar damage. They found two other vehicles had also been defaced near the original location of the call.

Police say they found both a Dodge Ram truck which had similar spray paint markings on the drivers side door but with a different set of letters, as well as a Chevy Blazer in the area, again with the same white spray paint on the drivers side door but with a different set of letters from the first two that were on the vehicles.

Police have no information on who could have done the spray painting but a witness allegedly told police they saw a green Mustang parked near one of the damaged vehicles and had never seen that car in the area before.

Police are still investigating.
