Police Release Details of Deaths of Two LeRoy Children and Father Found in Putnam County
There are still unanswered questions in the murder-suicide case of two LeRoy boys and their father. Jack and Duncan Connolly had been missing since March 8, when their father took off with them after a court ordered visit. Putnam County authorities found the boys and their father dead in a remote area Sunday afternoon.

An Amber Alert was issued for the boys March 9, and authorities had been searching for them since then. McLean County Sheriff Mike Emery chocked back tears as he detailed the investigation during a news conference Monday afternoon in Bloomington. Emery says emotions were high and the desire was strong to bring Jack and Duncan home to their mother. At this point, police are releasing few details about the investigation.

Mother Amy Leichtenberg issued a statement saying she feels the judicial system has failed her. She had tried to convince a judge that Connolly shouldn't be allowed to have unsupervised visits with the boys. McLean County State's Attorney Bill Yoder refused to comment until he had more details about her concerns.
