Verizon Customers Lose Service
Can you hear me now? That's what a number of area residents were saying when their wireless provider couldn't produce them with service. Verizon Wireless customers were left in the dark after a service interruption Tuesday that lasted for nearly 20 hours.

Verizon Wireless Media Representative for the Illinois and Wisconsin region Carolyn Schamberger says customers with the 368 prefix, and other customers in the Galesburg and Pekin area were without service from a little after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon until about 8:30 Wednesday morning. She said Verizon was in the process of network upgrades and unfortunately some local customers were affected.

Schamberger couldn't comment on a total number of customers affected by the outage in the area, or how many customers Verizon Wireless serves in the state.

Schamberger said if customers have any complaints with the service outage, they should contact a service representative at the company.
