Galesburg Man Arrested on Drugs, Weapons Charges
A Galesburg man is in trouble with the law after a normal check of a local housing complex turned up alleged drugs and weapons.

Galesburg Police say an officer patrolling the 400 block of Iowa Avenue just before 9pm Thursday night identified himself to a group of people who all had valid housing passes, when one of them allegedly took off running.

Reports indicate the man, later identified as 25-year old Crishawn George, allegedly dropped an item before running into a nearby home, and ran into a bedroom with two small children inside, who were reported to be screaming. Another resident of the home yelled at police that he wanted George out of there, and a large dog in the home was reported to be barking and at one point apparently tried to bite George.

George was able to be secured by officers, but not until officers found the stock end of a .22-caliber rifle in the bedroom, and later elsewhere in the home, the barrel end and a ski mask. A search of George allegedly turned up suspected marijuana, and he was later treated and released from a local hospital after complaining of chest pains.

George faces preliminary charges of Reseisting Arrest, Criminal Trespass to Land, Criminal Trespass to State-Supported Property, Possession of Cannabis, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of a Firearm without a FOID card.

George is in the Knox County Jail facing future court proceedings.
