Meeting Starts Local Improvement
Knoxville citizens now have a place to voice their concerns at monthly meetings.

One of the first of meetings of the Community and Economic Development Steering Committee took place Monday night.

Carrie McKillip, the U of I extenstion community and economic development director tells WGIL that this meeting is a result of the public interest.

"Last night was the first of monthly meetings where the action teams are breaking up into little groups and they are taking the information from the survey and trying to create projects and activities to address some of the concerns that came out of the survey."

McKillip also stated that the meetings could be attended by the public, since their concerns were the ones that made these "action teams" possible.
The meeting will be held on the fourth Monday of every month.
