IL Service Committee Sets Up Earthquake Relief Fund
CHICAGO (AP) -- The Japanese American Service Committee of Chicago has set up a fund to aid those who were affected by Friday's 8.9-magnitude earthquake in Japan.

All proceeds collected by the committee will go the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Fund.

The service committee also has Japanese-speaking social workers available to the Chicago community who specialize in issues related to grief and are familiar with cultural differences.

The Japanese American Service Committee was organized in 1946 to help Japanese immigrants and their American-born children who left World War II internment camps to resettle in Chicago. Its current mission is to raise awareness of Japanese American culture and heritage.
