Financing for Master Facilities Plan Before School Board
More action is expected tonight from the Galesburg School Board in connection to the financing of the first $30 million worth of work to be done as part of District 205's Master Facilities Plan.

The board tonight is to take action on three items related to the six sets of bonds to be issued for the work to be done at four district buildings.

District 205 Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Guy Cahill tells WGIL one of those items could help the district get those bonds issued.

"The District is finalizing it's preliminary official statement, which is the document that goes before other aiding agencies, the potential investors in the bonds of the school district, the board will be asked to approve that preliminary official statement along with accepting the bond under-writing council with Hutchinson, Shockey and Erly, and Stifel Nicolaus as co-manager on the sale of the bonds."

The Galesburg School Board tonight will also consider some changes to its investment policy, the school calendar for the coming year, and a proposed student exchange program involving the district's German classes.

The District 205 Board will meet at seven tonight, starting with a public hearing on the district's intent to sell bonds for the Master Facilities Plan.
