Chiles No Longer in Running for Superintendent in West Liberty
FIRST REPORTED 3:00pm 3/14/11 Galesburg High School Principal Tom Chiles will remain at District 205 for now.

Chiles declined a request Monday by WGIL for an interview, but confirmed he is no longer a candidate for a superintendent position in West Liberty, Iowa.

District 205 Superintendent Gene Denisar, however, says it's good for Galesburg.

"I'm really pleased to report that to my knowledge Dr. Chiles isn't leaving and I think that's good for everybody, it's good for the high school and good for the district and everyone."

News that Chiles was one of five finalists for the position came a couple weeks ago from a story published in the West Liberty Index.

Interviews took place last week.
Chiles, who is from Iowa, has been with District 205 since 2006 and makes a base salary of $109,000per year.

Prior to working in Galesburg, Chiles was an administrator in Muscatine, Iowa. It is not clear what Chiles' future plans are.
