Galesburg Man Sentenced to Prision on Sex Crimes
A Galesburg man is headed to prison for four-years on criminal sex charges.

20-year old Nicholas Grady was sentenced in Knox County Circuit Court yesterday(Thursday).

Grady pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child after he was arrested last summer for having sex with a 16-year old girl, Grady was 19 at the time.

All this occurred while Grady was on probation for an earlier charge of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of a three-year old in 2009.

On the 2009 charge, Grady served 30 days in jail with three years probation, where he was to have no contact with anyone under 17 without supervision.

Four months into the probation period, Grady was arrested on the 2010 charge.

Judge Paul Mangeri handed down the sentence, saying he took into account the defendants' young age, but said Grady must have understood the ramifications of his actions as a statement read from the 16-year old victim stated Grady had told her he would go to prison if she told anyone about the sexual intercourse.

Mangeri re-sentenced Grady to two-years in prison on the 2009 charge with one-year supervised release and four-years in prison with two-years supervised release on the 2010 charge.

Grady will serve the sentences concurrently and will receive 185 days credit for time spent in the Knox County Jail up to now.
