Abingdon Man Accused of Stealing Tires from Vehicle
A man from Abingdon was arrested on several charges early Monday morning.
Thomas Shaw, 35 years old, of 301 S. East Street, was found by police allegedly stealing tires off a vehicle in a parking lot located near Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

According to police reports, Shaw had three tires already in the back of his Chevrolet truck, while the other was in the lot where Shaw had dropped it. All the tires belonged to the Ford Taurus of Galesburg woman, who told police that she didn't know Shaw.

Ward also explained that she did not give Shaw permission to take the tires either.
Upon police looking in Shaw's truck, they found a hitter pipe on the front seat.

With further investigation, police found a mirror that had a white residue and "three meth snorter tubes", according to the police report.

Other items that included a stolen air conditioner, were found in Shaw's truck and returned to their owner.

Charges that Shaw faces include burglary to a motor vehicle, theft over $500, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a peace officer. Shaw was taken to the Knox County Jail.
