Schilling Questions U.S. Involvement in Libya
Congressman Bobby Schilling is questioning the U.S. involvement in the current United Nations-backed military action in Libya.

The 17th District Republican spoke to the Galesburg Noon Kiwanis Club Tuesday -- his first known appearance in town since being elected last November.

Schilling says he wants details about what role the U.S. action will be, speaking perhaps in jest about who started the military action to begin with.

"It scares me that we don't know we are just there helping out; of course, France says 'Hey, we got this started and you guys clean it up', I'm like they do that every time. Then they are back home and our treasure, our blood is still there."

Schilling says he is concerned about troop exhaustion, especially given that the U.S. is already involved in two other wars.

The Colona resident says we deserve to know, among other things, just how long the United States expects to be in Libya.
