GHAS Membership Could Put Worries at Ease
FIRST REPORTED 3pm 3/25/11 April is fast approaching and with it is the open enrollment for a membership the Galesburg Hospitals' Ambulance System.

Director of Education at GHAS, Brian Anderson, tells WGIL membership opportunities include 50-percent of a bill for transport, which is one less thing to worry about in an emergency situation.

"Working as a paramedic, we get to see individuals in their most joyous occasions and in the worst of times. But nobody ever expects to have an accident or an illness. And when that happens, the last thing you need is more financial stress."

The average cost for an ambulance ride is about 750-dollars without considering insurance coverage, which would be cut in half if with a membership.

Cost for GHAS memberships are 68 dollars per year for an individual and 80 dollars for a family.

Revenue from the program, which has been dwindling in the past few years, can help education efforts for employees at GHAS.
