Ex-Bear Shaun Gayle Testifies at Murder Trial
WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) -- Former Chicago Bears player Shaun Gayle has testified in the suburban Chicago trial of a woman accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend.

Gayle took the stand Tuesday at the trial of 43 year old Marni Yang of Chicago, who is accused of shooting Rhoni Reuter of Deerfield in October 2007, killing her and her unborn child. Gayle was a member of the Bears 1985 Super Bowl team.

Gayle testified he met Yang in 2005 and the two had a business relationship that turned sexual. He said he had sex with Yang at his home the night before Reuter's killing.

Yang has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder and intentional homicide of an unborn child.

Prosecutors described the killing as "cold, calculated and premeditated." But defense attorneys argue investigators never considered other suspects.
