Concussion Regulation Bill Passes Illinois House
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Legislation setting new guidelines for handling concussions among student-athletes has been approved by the Illinois House.

The bill would bar high school students from returning to games after a possible concussion until a doctor gives written permission.

School districts also would have to educate teachers, students and parents on concussion symptoms. Parents and students would need to sign a waiver acknowledging the risks.

House Minority Leader Tom Cross, R-Oswego, sponsored the House bill, which passed unanimously Tuesday. It now goes to the Senate.
