Economic Development Plan Before Galesburg Aldermen Monday
An extensive plan to try to bring more business and industry to the City of Galesburg will be discussed Monday night.

The Galesburg City Council will meet for yet another work session Monday -- but tonight's focus will be economic development, and a proposed Business and Industrial Development Plan.

City Economic Development Director Cesar Suarez is expected to make the presentation. His office has budgeted a half-million dollars for the plan, which covers six areas: building awareness, making contact, developing interest, give presentations, bringing closure to deals, and broad-based initiatives.

The is proposing re-branding the Logistics Park Galesburg, social media, improving broadband internet access, a city and community branding campaign, and other ideas.

The Logistics Park has sat empty for most of the near decade it's been in existence.

The City Council work session is at 5:30 Monday night inside Council Chambers at Galesburg City Hall.
