Trio of New Principals Named in District-205
Three new principals have been hired into the Galesburg school district.

Announced officially at Monday night's District-205 board of education meeting, Roy Van Meter will replaced Principal Tom Chiles at Galesburg High School in the fall.

At Gale Elementary, Johnathon Bradburn will take over for Ellen Spittell, and Angela Stockman will become principal at Silas Willard for John Shelly.

District-205 Superintendent Gene Denisar tells WGIL it's makes for good timing that the three openings were filled now.

"It provides plenty of time for transition," he said. "Where people can come and be with the current sitting principal and get the lay of the land, so to speak, in the school. And learn of any issues or things they may need to deal with, and prepare for a good opening next fall."

Denisar says he's very pleased with the new hires and feels they'll fit in well.

Stockman is currently the principal at a Peoria elementary school, Bradburn is for West-Central High School, and Van Meter serves as principal for Iroquois West High School in Gilman, Illinois.
