Homeless Man Gets Three Years for Committing Sex Act in Front of 2-year-old
A homeless man living in Galesburg was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday for sexual exploitation of a child last October.

Knox County Circuit Court Records indicate 53-year-old Jerry Turner was found guilty last month of the crime. Prosecutors alleged he touched himself in front of a 2-year-old girl at Burke's Cleaners in Galesburg.

A Galesburg police report from October of 2011 shows Turner was seen fondling his own genitalia in the victim's line of site, who was playing in the arcade room.

Although Turner has two prior sex-related convictions, court records show Circuit Judge Scott Shipplett shaved three years off the maximum sentence of six years. Turner was also convicted of aggravated battery last year.

Turner will serve his sentence at the Illinois Department of Corrections. After his incarceration, the 53-year-old has a year of probation. He will be required to pay court fines.
