Violation Leads to Felony Drug Charges
A Galesburg man released but who had to deal with electronic home monitoring while awaiting trial on felony drug charges ended up being greeted by a SWAT Team at his front door.

Galesburg Police say the SWAT team along with local officers and representatives of the Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group went to 21-year old Travis Walker's home in the 700 block of Avenue A around 5:40am Friday to conduct a search thanks to a legal search warrant that was obtained.

Police say the search resulted in only a small amount of suspected marijuana, but also some other drug-related items.

Walker was on home monitoring for felony drug charges filed earlier this year, and for which he's scheduled for a pre-trial hearing in April.

Walker faces new charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Violation of a Home Monitoring Device, after Walker tested positive on site for possible cannabis.

Walker is in the Knox County Jail pending yet more court hearings.
