Big Fulton County Employer Looking to Expand
An employer in Fulton County that's made a big name for itself in the several years it's been in operation there is looking to get bigger.

Officials at Spoon River College say that the two Cook Medical plants in Canton -- Cook Medical and Cook Polymer -- are both hiring, and that the college will serve as the location for testing for both facilities.

Spoon River College says Cook Medical is looking to hire 18 employees for manufacturing and inspection positions at the plant, while Cook Polymer is set to open in the summer after ground was broken on the plant last year at the site of the former International Harvester plant, and they're looking to hire up to 30 employees.

College officials say there are specific position requirements, and anyone looking to apply for the jobs needs to call Spoon River College first.

They say staff will tell potential applicants how to prepare and when they can take the series of tests needed for the jobs.

Screening for the jobs will take a full day and uses various forms of the ACT test, along with examinations of dexterity and other means.

More information is available by contacting Spoon River College's Community Outreach office on Canton's Public Square, (309) 647-6260.
