Colona Man Dies in Single Vehicle Crash
Illinois State Police say a Colona man is dead following a single vehicle accident in his hometown Saturday morning.

District-7 Troopers say they responded to the scene at 8:30 AM Saturday and found 36-year-old Christopher Phillips unresponsive in his vehicle. The Henry County Coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

Troopers say it happened at 7th Avenue and 6th Street in Colona. They say Phillips' 1997 Ford pick-up truck was off the roadway and partially submerged in the Hennepin Canal.

State police issued a release stating Phillips was the only occupant inside the vehicle.

They say details into Saturday's single vehicle fatal crash are still being investigated.
