Indiana Man Busted for Pot on I-74
An Indiana man heading eastbound on Interstate 74 Tuesday morning was arrested by Galesburg police for allegedly traveling cross-country with pot inside his vehicle.

Police say 37-year-old Aaron Dunn was pulled over around 9:15am Tuesday at mile marker 49. They say Dunn had no front license plate on his SUV, and the rear plates were obstructed by luggage.

A Galesburg police report indicates Dunn initially denied possessing any illegal drugs. But when authorities warned of a possible K-9 search, Dunn retrieved a plastic coffee container from under his front seat, revealing suspected cannabis.

Records show inside was a plastic bag containing 25 grams of alleged pot. Police say there was also an item with suspected burnt cannabis residue, used to allegedly ingest the drug.

According to authorities, Dunn said he was bringing the cannabis from Oregon to a friend back home, and the paraphernalia was his wife's.

Dunn is facing charges for unlawful possession of cannabis, 10 to 30 grams, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. A court date is pending.
