Wal-Mart Bomb Threat Under Investigation
Officers responded to Wal-Mart just after 10:30 Friday night to a reported bomb threat.

According to the report, a subject described by employees as sounding like a young male called the location in the 600 block of Knox Square Drive to inform employees of the threat.

The subject said the explosion would go off in 20 minutes. Officers checked the perimeter of the building as employees were told to evacuate the location.

Officers interviewed the employee who took the threatening phone call and said the voice didn't sound irate, but described the subject as speaking with a normal tone of voice.

The phone happened to ring again while officers were present. Galesburg Police took the phone call and identified themselves as employees of the Wal-Mart.

The subject on the phone then replied "I know you're a cop."

A female voice could be heard in the background.

No explosive devices were located, but store employees waited outside for about 20 minutes before being let back in.

This is the second time in less than a year that Wal-Mart in Galesburg has received bomb threats as they received a similar call in August of last year.

Galesburg Police are working with Wal-Mart corporate headquarters in the investigation.
