Man Behind Pot Distribution Ring Sentenced
A Galesburg man pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges of possession of cannabis and conspiracy.

36-year old Kyle Kaminski was arrested in November of last year with three others after the U.S Postal Service found seven pounds of pot inside a package being sent to an Indiana Drive home in Galesburg.

It was later learned that Kaminski was the mastermind behind the delivery operation.

Over a six-month-period, more than 40 pounds of marijuana was sent through the mail to the Indiana Drive address.

Kaminski was looking at a maximum sentence of seven years in prison for the possession charge, but was given the minimum sentence.

Kaminski will spend three years in prison for Conspiracy and another two years on probation for possession of Cannabis.

The two counts of possession of cannabis with the intent to deliver, cannabis trafficking and another other possession charge was dropped in exchange for a guilty plea.

Two others involved in the case Forest Norville and Chaston Gomez are due in court in April and May for pre-trial conferences.

As for the third man involved William Powell, his plea hearing was continued to a later date.
