Knife Threats Lead to Arrest
Galesburg Police responded to the 900 block of East South Street, Tuesday to a disturbance in progress.

Officers arrived on scene just after 3 a-m where several subjects were exiting the residence coughing and spitting.

According to the report, 33 year old Donald McGruder was reportedly shirtless and screaming at 23 Keyario (Key-ARR-ee-oh) Patterson in the kitchen of the home.

Authorities say that the house was filled with aroma of pepper spray - which was used by someone present at the scene to allegedly break-up a fight between the two men as well as 33 year old Ronald McGruder.

When officers arrived on scene, Patterson was allegedly bleeding from broken stitches on the left side of his face. Officers also noted the appearance of bite marks on the subjects nose.

Due to what was described as threatening language from Donald McGruder, officers arrested him and Ronald McGruder for battery causing bodily harm .

Upon interviewing others at the scene, officers noted that Patterson had allegedly threatened the McGruders with a knife. Galesburg Police arrested Patterson for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Patterson is scheduled for a first appearance April 4th.
