Family Of Seven-Year Old Killed By Pit Bull Thanks Community
"I was just wanting to give out a special thanks to everybody that has supported me and my family, whether it was a hug, a prayer, or donation."

Sarah Mead, the mother of seven-year old Ryan Maxwell who was killed by a pit bull a week ago, called to thank WLSR "The Laser's" Chris LaGrow and asked him if he would thank the community for all their support and help during their family's difficult time.

LaGrow invited Mead to come to the studios so she could go on air and thank the community herself.

One post, started on Facebook, passed on and reposted, has exploded into a community outpour of support from loved ones and strangers.

That post was a request to get the producers of the reality show 'Finding Bigfoot' to dedicate an episode to Ryan Maxwell.

Ryan's Grandfather Tom Mead told Chris LaGrow when he heard about that effort he was beyond moved.

"It's just totally blown me away," says Mead. "The first time I heard that I just had to pull my vehicle over and I just started crying because I couldn't believe it and when I found out it was actually happening, I just couldn't believe and Ryan would just be blown away by all of this."

The family was beyond grateful for the community's support for Ryan.

Mead says Ryan was in love with the show and wanted to go and search for bigfoot.

He says he went out and bought a camper and was going to take Ryan on his own Big Foot hunt with his friends.
