Understanding Autism Through the Eyes of a Parent
A Galesburg man, often criticized for how much he expresses his feelings that rules about childhood vaccines need to be thrown out and rewritten, has again expressed those feelings.

Curt Linderman, Sr., and his wife Kim, hosted a conference in Galesburg Saturday where he hoped to educate the public about autism -- and, more specifically, how he and others claim that the childhood vaccine schedule may not be the cause of autism, but may be, in his words, the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Linderman is president of the National Autism Association of West Central Illinois, and tells WGIL vaccines, like a lot of other things, should become more green, and that will help. "Let's get rid of the toxins," Linderman said. "We don't need mercury in the vaccines. We don't need the aluminum. The aluminum acts an an (agitator), which creates the immune response. But there are safer ways to do this without using these toxic metals that are neurotoxins."

Linderman, who writes and edits for some autism publications and hosts an internet radio show on the subject, says the other solution is to have a doctor who understands that vaccines need to be more spread out, not so close together.

Linderman says his youngest child, now seven, was, in his words, "vaccine injured" at 20-months of age, after receiving nine vaccines in six shots in one day. He says most doctors don't get that, but two doctors who spoke at Saturday's conference do.
