Illinois Man on Second Ship Attacked by Pirates
Somali pirates attacked an American-flagged ship, Liberty Sun, which was carrying humanitarian aid, but the ship and crew, including one many from Illinois, are safe and under Navy escort. Katy Urbik of Wheaton, Illinois says she's relieved her son, Thomas, is okay. The Liberty Sun was headed to Mombasa, Kenya from Houston.

Mike Urbik, Katy's husband and Thomas' father, says his wife called him to let him know about the email from Thomas. He’s also relieved his son is okay. He talks about how the USS Bainbridge came to the the aid of the Liberty Sun. When the Bainbridge got to the scene, the pirates had fled.

According to the New York state based Liberty Maritime Corp, the owner of the Liberty Sun, the pirates fired rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons. The Sun has a crew of about 20.
