Blagojevich Appointment Resigns Post
Rajinder Bedi, head of the state's Office of Trade and Investment, has resigned after being told that he would be fired by the end of the month.

Gov. Pat Quinn Wednesday confirmed that he planned to replace Bedi. He says the department needs an overhaul and that was his sole reason for his decision.

Bedi was hired by ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich in 2003. Bedi found himself with the state job after he helped bring in significant campaign contributions from the Indian-American community for Blagojevich.

Bedi had also been accused of sexual harassment in his office, but has denied the allegations.

Bedi, who was out of the country at the time he phoned in his resignation, has not been accused of any crimes.
