Reporting Corruption is Just a Click Away
Governor Pat Quinn has launched a new web site to help crack down on corruption.

www.whislteblower.illinois.gov is an interactive website that allows watchdogs to easily report suspected corruption at all levels of government.

Those who blow the whistle on waste and fraud in the government are protected from official retribution by the Illinois Whistleblower Reward and Protection Act, passed in 1991.

Since the Act was strengthened in 2008 to include all levels of government, the state can collect up to three times the amount lost to fraud along with fines up to $10,000.

A whistleblower can get up to 30 percent of the amount recovered as a reward upon completion of a successful whistleblower suit.
