Quinn Wants More Reform in Reform Commission's Reports
Gov. Pat Quinn likes his ethics panel's report, but would like to see a few more reforms in it. Quinn says he wants voters to have the option to recall embattled officials, and for the state to start a public campaign financing system for judge races.

Quinn says now that the Illinois Reform Commission report has been delivered, it's time for state lawmakers to make good on their promises to clean up state government. He says he'd be "extremely unhappy" if the report wasn't taken seriously.

The report calls for expanded authority for the Illinois attorney general's office and state's attorney's offices to investigate allegations of corruption, but Quinn doesn't know how much it would cost. He doesn't think the report's initiatives would be very expensive.

Tell that to the State Board of Elections. It still can't implement most of the last round of ethics reform laws because lawmakers didn't give them enough money for more staff.

A little more than a month remains in the spring legislative session.
