Document: Rezko Made Payment to Blago's Wife
CHICAGO (AP) -- A newly released court document says former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's wife paid more than $38,000 toward remodeling their home two days after convicted fixer and campaign fundraiser Tony Rezko sent her $40,000.

The 91-page document says Rezko described the money as a commission on real estate brokerage services in the sale of two properties, even though they were sold without Patti Blagojevich's assistance.

The document outlines the government's evidence against the former governor. It was made public Wednesday after the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Sun-Times and The Associated Press petitioned for its release.

Blagojevich has pleaded not guilty to charges of scheming to sell President Obama's former Senate seat and illegally pressuring campaign contributors. His wife has not been charged.
