People in Galesburg Schedules Another Free Dinner
The People in Galesburg, through the efforts/support of its two action groups--Hunger & Nurturing Neighborhoods--will be serving another free dinner to the public on Thursday, April 29, from 5-8 p.m., at the First Christian Church, 301 North Broad Street, in Galesburg.

This Community Dinner (which will consist of spaghetti, bread, and dessert) represents the third effort for The People in Galesburg to feed people.

The People in Galesburg is looking for ways to make meals available to residents on a more regular basis. This includes having future meals at other Galesburg locations as well as growing food locally for dispersal.

Any and all Galesburg area residents are encouraged to attend. "A scrumptious and nutritious meal will be served and it is hoped that a wonderful conversation between people will ensue," the group said in a news release.

More information about the People, and its Action Groups, can be found at the website: www.ThePeopleInGalesburg.org.

"The People in Galesburg also want to thank several local purveyors of food (specifically, HyVee, Q's Cafe, The Pizza House, Jimmy Johns, State Farm Insurance, and Spudos, as well as St. Mary's Hospital) for their generous donations to our dinners. We are also thankful to the City of Galesburg who provided us a $100 grant to support the second dinner," the group said.
