New Trial for Woman in Car Attack Killing
PEKIN, Ill. (AP) -- An appellate court has ruled that previously convicted murderer Krystle McGlothlin of Pekin should be given a new trial for running over her former husband in a parking lot.

Illinois Third District Court of Appeals reversed McGlothlin's murder conviction Wednesday and remanded the case back to Tazewell County for trial. The appellate court ruled that Circuit Court Judge Stephen Kouri did not properly admonish McGlothlin about the terms of parole after she served her sentence.

When she was 25, McGlothlin pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree murder in June of 2007 and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. If she had gone to trial she would have faced five counts of first-degree murder.

Authorities say McGlothlin will be represented by the Tazewell County Public Defender's Office at her new trial.
