Knox College Graduate on Time's Most Influential List
GALESBURG, Ill. (AP) -- A Springfield High School and Knox College graduate is on Time magazine's annual list of most influential people.

Matt Berg comes in at No. 19 on Time's roster of leading thinkers. He's in the company of people like Apple CEO Steve Jobs, who is No. 11.

Time singled out Berg's work as technology director for ChildCount+. In that role, the 32-year old has helped create a network of health workers who track diseases of thousands of children in Africa using text messages.

Berg was born in a village in Cameroon and grew up in Senegal in west Africa. He attended Springfield High School in Springfield. He graduated from Galesburg-based Knox College in 2000 with a a bachelor's degree in computer science and integrated international studies.
