Tea Party Stops in Springfield
The Tea Party Express tour included a stop in Springfield Monday. The group is spreading their message of less federal government and more fiscal responsibility.

Former Republican candidate for governor Adam Andrzejewski spoke during the rally. He is calling for fiscal responsibility in the state of Illinois. Andrzejewski supports a forensic audit of state spending so every Illinoisan will know how state money is used. He says, however, Speaker of the House Mike Madigan is blocking the measure.

The theme of the Tea Party tour is "Just Vote Them Out," which refers to the Washington lawmakers the party says are corrupt and selfish. John Bambeneck agrees with the theme but says that option is needed in Illinois. Bambeneck has written a constitutional amendment he hopes will be on the November ballot. During the rally he asked people to support his amendment, which would allow Illinois voters to remove lawmakers from office, among other things.

The Tea Party Express tour began in Nevada last month and will end in Washington D.C. April 15. The tour bus will make one more stop in Illinois Tuesday. The bus is scheduled to be in Rockford at 2:30 pm.
