Sheriff Says High Speed Likely Cause of Fatal Fulton County Crash
AVON, Ill. (AP) -- An area law enforcement official believes high-speed driving was behind a single-car crash that killed two teen girls over the weekend.

Fulton County Sheriff Jeff Standard says neither drugs or alcohol appear to have been a factor in the crash Saturday night near Avon that killed 15-year olds Rachel Anderson of Avon and Anissa Morgan of Racine, Wis.

Standard believes the girls were driving fast on the country road when the driver lost control and crashed into a utility pole.

The car was driven by another teen, 16-year-old Megan Markley of Avon. She was taken to a Peoria hospital. Information about her condition is not available. Another passenger, 14-year-old Levi Sloan, remains hospitalized in fair condition.
