State Fair Lineup Announced
The Illinois State Fair is ten days packed full of entertainment and activities. State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick says this year's budget is about the same as last year, but it still includes three additional days of grandstand acts and two extra days of arena activities.

Bliefnick says there are a number of new events coming to the 2010 state fair. The Illinois Soybean Association, for example, is partnering with the fair to create the Farmer's Little Helper program. The interactive attraction for young children teaches them about agriculture and how food goes from the farm to the grocery store.

One of the new grandstand shows will be a "Semi-Homemade" cooking demonstration by Sandra Lee of the Food Network. The arena is also adding an extra night of the demolition derby. Coordinator Shaner McDermith says a new class in the derby will be the "Soccer Mom" class, in which only women will compete in minivans.

Bliefnick says the goal is to attract visitors to the fair and she says the best way to do that is to keep things affordable. The grandstand line-up and ticket prices are:

Aug. 13 Lady Antebellum - $28
Aug. 14 Kiss Army - $5
Aug. 15 Shinedown with Chevelle - $25
Aug. 16 Illinois Symphony - Free
Aug. 17 MercyMe - $18
Aug. 18 Blake Shelton - $20
Aug. 19 Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade - Free
Aug. 20 Cheap Trick with Blonde - $25
Aug. 21 Selena Gomez - $25
Aug. 22 Darius Rucker with Eric Church - $25
