Man Flies Upside Down Flags to Make War Statement
(IRN)-American Flags are flying upside down at some war memorials in Danville, and in front of the Vermilion County War Museum. Harold "Sparky" Songer, President of the War Museum, says it is not being done out of disrespect, but rather to alert others that our nation is in distress, fighting three overseas wars.

"We don't have enough young men and women to have three and four wars going at one time, serving two and three tours overseas in those godforsaken countries," he said.

Songer served in the Armed Forces in World War 2, during which he was a prisoner of war. He also served during the conflicts in Korea and Vietnam.

Songer says what prompted him to put the flags upside down is when President Obama decided to jog to the Washington Monument after a government shutdown was averted. He says the commander-in-chief should be more careful with his own safety.

Songer says he is not sure how long he will let the flags fly upside down.
