Man Arrested for Growing Pot in McDonough County
A McDonough County resident is jailed on criminal charges after a host of items, including marijuana, allegedly were found in his home earlier this week.

Agents from the West Central Illinois Drug Task Force says their agents along with Macomb and State Police Officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 1200 block of East Carroll Street in Macomb around one o'clock Monday afternoon after what they called, quote, "an extensive cannabis investigation."

The search allegedly turned up cannabis plants, growing equipment, cannabis ready to distribute, other drug-related items, and allegedly a number of guns.

Authorities say they arrested later that day 27 year old Jeremy Shelton, but they do not say what he's being charged with.

Shelton is being held in the McDonough County Jail pending a court appearance.
The West Central Illinois Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Illinois State Police and Monmouth Police, along with deputies from the Fulton and Schuyler County Sheriffs Departments.
