New Ag Room Still Being Planned for in Monmouth-Roseville
Some plans to essentially expand Monmouth-Roseville High School are still in the planning stages, as school officials work to find the money that will pay for it.

High school Principal Jeff Bryan told the District 238 School Board Tuesday night that it likely will be sometime this summer yet before plans are finalized and work could finally begin on a new agriculture classroom and weight room.

But Bryan says he's been looking for money in as many different places as he can for at least the ag part of the expansion.

"Saturday I completed the DuPont Pioneer Seed grant application that the door was now open for us to submit. Ms Savage is our local sponsor for that, we need a local Pionerr rep to be our sponsor and he has agreed to do that and once we have your letter of endorsement along with ours we send that in."

Bryan says the district has also looked to Lowe's for a grant that also could help fund the half-million dollar project. But, he says he needs the help of farmers.

Ag company Monsanto also has funding available, but farmers have to go to Monsanto's website to nominate the school for any money under a program called Growing Rural Education.
