4 Support Staff Members Win NIU Awards
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Northern Illinois University has announced four support staff members have won the school's presidential awards for excellence.

The recipients are Kate Braser, coordinator of the honors program; Abby Chemers, associate director of budget and planning in finances and facilities; Dan Nichols, head of recording services in the school of music; and Patricia Sievert, coordinator of NIU STEM (science, technology, engineering and match) outreach in the Center for P-20 Engagement.

The four will be honored Tuesday at a reception in the Duke Ellington Ballroom of the Holmes Student Center on the DeKalb campus. Each will receive a plaque and a $1,500 award.

Supportive Professional Staff Council President Todd Latham will receive the SPS Council Service Award. He is assistant to the chair of the Department of Leadership, Education Psychology and Foundations.
