Outpatient Services Added at Nursing Home
The Knox County Nursing Home is now adding services for people who don't live inside the home.

As of Tuesday, the Nursing Home's physical therapy and rehabilitation services are available on an out-patient basis, due to an official state certification.

Knox County Nursing Home Administrator Kathy Kopsak tells WGIL it's something that has been contemplated since the nursing home's new bariatric and rehab wing opened last year.

"Once we got rolling with that wing, and the therapists were inducted into their new areas with their new equipment, we decided we really should should try expanding it to outpatient," Kopsak said. "Because we are seeming to attract more residents who are coming here for a short stay, who perhaps can go home and come back to do outpatient therapy."

Kopsak says she's hoping to target residents of the Knoxville and Williamsfield areas, among others -- the types of people that may not want to travel all the way into Galesburg for such services.

She says she wants to keep in-patient and out-patient therapy work as separate as possible due to privacy laws, so potential patients should call the Nursing Home first to get more information.
