Special Prosecutor Involved in Local Drug Case
A special prosecutor is now involved in the case of one of two men charged after drugs were allegedly found in a Galesburg home late last month.

Court records in Knox County indicate that Special Prosecutor Chuck Zalar is now prosecuting the case of 22-year old Blake Johnson of Abingdon.

That's because a conflict of interest was believed to be found within the Knox County Courthouse, so the State's Attorney has been taken off.

Zalar filed new charges Monday against Johnson which include three-counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Johnson pleaded not guilty through Public Defender Jim Harrell, and asked for a trial by jury. He'll be back in court May seventh.

Johnson and 26-year old Joshua Foster of Galesburg were arrested after local Police and the Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group went to Foster's Florence Avenue Home March 30th. Heroin and Marijuana were allegedly found in the home.

Foster's preliminary hearing in the case was continued Monday to May first.

Both men are being held in jail on $100,000 bond.
