New Mexico Man Arrested for Drugs at Depot
A 58-year-old New Mexico man has been arrested for possessing suspected cannabis while traveling by train through Galesburg but is out of jail on bond.

Police say Albuquerque's Grant French was targeted during drug interdiction efforts around lunchtime Wednesday for an active Whiteside County warrant. French advised authorities he knew of the warrant-- which was for failing to pay a cannabis-related fine.

When asked if he was traveling with any illegal drugs, reports indicate French revealed to police he was carrying "a few ounces." Police say he fully cooperated and a bag with one hundred grams of alleged pot was discovered inside his luggage.

Knox County Circuit Court Records indicate French posted bail Thursday at 10-percent of $20,000 dollars and will be back in court Monday morning.

French is facing charges for possession of cannabis, 30 to 500 grams, and also charges for failing to pay fines for a Whiteside County cannabis delivery charge.
